After the Christmas holidays, it’s time to take down the decorations and dispose of your Christmas tree. Burning a real tree in a fireplace or stove is extremely dangerous.
Fire Risk: Tree needles can cause sparks, and the high resin content leads to fast and explosive burning.
Chimney Hazard: Sparks travel up the chimney, increasing the risk of a chimney fire.
Toxic Smoke: Burning trees release harmful gases like hydrogen cyanide.
For your safety, never burn your Christmas tree. Recycle it into compost instead.
